The completed application form must be accompanied by two letters of reference and the $100 application fee.
No prior knowledge of either Italian or English is required for entering grades pre-K through 6th. Special courses in Italian as a new language are provided through 12th grade. Accelerated English language courses are also offered to students who qualify.
La Scuola d’Italia is an English/Italian bilingual school with an international student population.
For the academic year 2020-21, the total student body is approximately 130.
We accept applications for all grades throughout the course of the year. However, those applicants wishing to enter the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades must meet La Scuola d’Italia’s academic requirements.
Full tuition is paid for the first child. A 10% discount is applied to the tuition of each additional child (full-time students only).
Upon receipt of an application, parents are contacted to schedule an interview. During this visit, the student or students will be invited to attend and participate with a class of the same age group.

There is no specific deadline, but it is recommended to apply early in the fall to facilitate scheduling for a school visit and interview. La Scuola follows ISAAGNY guidelines for notification dates to new applicants.
Families may tour the school at the time of the interview or during one of our open house events.
Financial aid and scholarships are not available for pre-school students.
Scholarships and financial aid are available to eligible students in other grades. Awards are determined on the basis of family need. Interested applicants are referred to the SSS (School & Student Services by NAIS) website for families. Partial Middle School and High School merit scholarships are available to currently enrolled 5th and 8th graders.
Public school bus service is available for K through 5th grade students. There are 2 buses, east side and west side, with assigned stops. For 6th through 12th grades, students are entitled to a full or half fare metro-card, depending on the distance of their home to school.
Between our very active Parents Association, school field trips, and other school-related activities, we are always looking for parents willing to volunteer their time.
Our graduates attend North American as well as European Union Colleges and Universities. La Scuola partners with other educational organizations to offer our students opportunities for summer language study in Italy. During the academic year, high school students participate in various Model United Nations projects in the US and abroad.
A variety of activities are offered after school for an additional fee.
