LA SCUOLA JOINS THE “OLTRECONFINI PROJECT” TO PROMOTE THEATER IN SCHOOLS AND THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE THROUGH THEATER
La Scuola is pleased to have become part of the OTiS network, an Italian association whose aim is to encourage the use of educational theater in schools.
The OTIS network is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR) and collaborates with SCIE, the Association that promotes Italian language and culture abroad. The Oltreconfini Project – Beyond Borders: where School and Theater meet – is an initiative sponsored by the OTiS Network, focused on theater as a tool to promote intercultural dialog and inclusiveness.
The initiative was conceived in Rome by Mariarosa Lo Monaco and in almost 10 years of activity has grown to include schools from all over Italy, Italian schools abroad and international schools involving over 6,000 students.
On November 16-19, representatives of over 40 schools of the OTIS Network will meet in Rome for the 3rd edition of the seminar “ Education to Theater”.
We are proud of our own teacher Massimo Zordan who, thanks to his recognized expertise in theater techniques, has been invited to showcase La Scuola’s experience in educational theater.
As many of you will know, Massimo, is an Italian actor, director and expert on theater techniques. He has been with La Scuola since 2016 and is successfully applying an innovative pedagogical approach to theater teaching to students of all grades similar to the one used to teach professional actors.
Mariarosa Lo Monaco, founder of this initiative and representative of OTiS has identified La Scuola as an example of best practice to be shared with all the other schools (Italian and International) part of the network.
We are extremely proud of this and delighted to be able to exchange experiences with other Italian and International schools.
