Educational theater: La Scuola’s experience presented in Cosenza (Italy)

Mark Rothko said that good teachers should be able to help students become better adults who can understand the beauty that surrounds them.

Theater, like other forms of arts, has the power to stimulate students’ awareness of beauty and therefore holds a pedagogical value that needs to be recognized. Like other subjects, theater should only be taught by experts who are able to translate its value in the classroom.

This is the theme of a conference taking place in Cosenza (Italy) on January, 9 organized by C.Re.S.Co. Calabria, an organization that brings together professionals from the Italian contemporary theater scene.  La Scuola’s Theater Teacher Massimo Zordan, has been invited as keynote speaker to present La Scuola’s approach. Our Liceo students are also contributing with a video interview where they explain their experience with theater in the school.
