Middle School

As students mature and progress as learners, our middle school program provides the support children at this age need to discover their own voices, take on new material, and navigate the social and emotional challenges of adolescence.

“It is increasingly popular to put an ‘International’ label on a curriculum, but it is not easy to give it substance. This school does. The community is International and diverse. The school accommodates the needs of students who are not yet proficient in English or Italian, providing support programs through which they gradually become fluent.”

Integrated Study of Italian and English

Building on the bilingual and multicultural elementary curriculum, our middle school program offers an integrated study of the Italian and English languages and literature. With their facility for language established, French instruction continues as a third major modern language. American history, social studies and geography, art, music, physical education, and the use of technology are taught alongside mathematics and the natural and physical sciences.

Language Requirements

Applicants do not need to be Italian or to speak the language to apply and gain acceptance. We will conduct a language assessment during the admission process to ensure that students are ready to join us, and supplemental language instruction is available for students who need to strengthen their language ability.
