La Scuola d’Italia enjoys an active and engaged Parents Association that plays a vital role in the school’s community building efforts and educational objectives. The Parents Association works throughout the academic year to provide a range of events and programming in support of the school’s mission and to promote understanding between parents and the school.
We are governed by an independent committee of Parents elected biannually by the parent body. Each grade is assigned a Class Representative who serves as a spokesperson for their class and are thus a crucial link between the Parents Association and the parent body. They work to foster communication and create a sense of goodwill and community within their class by:
Welcoming new families to the class;
Serving as a source of accurate information and helping to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner;
Encouraging parent attendance at the Parents Association and School events;
Helping to organize class dinners and receptions;
Encouraging and facilitating parent volunteerism at La Scuola.
We encourage parents from all grade levels to get involved. We are a volunteer organization that benefits from close and supportive relationships with the Head of the School, faculty, administrators, and staff. We are not an independent fundraising organization.
